December 31, 2021 |
Deadline for earning 2021 hours without penalty. Attorneys who did not establish compliance by Dec. 31 will be assessed a $100 fee on the ARS. |
February 28, 2022 | Annual Report Statements mailed or emailed. |
March 31, 2022 |
Deadline for receipt of your ARS at the CLE office if you are short hours, owe money, or must claim an exemption. If you are required to return an ARS, the Non-Completion Fee of $100 will be assessed if the form is late. Documents hand delivered, faxed, mailed or e-mailed to the CLE Commission must be physically at the Commission’s office by close of business on March 31, 2022. |
May 2, 2022 |
Notices of Non-Compliance and Affidavits of Compliance sent certified mail to attorneys still not in compliance. Non-resident attorneys who have not claimed an exemption must still file a claim of exemption. |
May 31, 2022 |
Deadline for establishing compliance by filing the Affidavit of Compliance or claiming a valid exemption. Compliance means the hours necessary for compliance have been earned or a valid exemption has been claimed and all fees have been paid to the CLE Commission. Documents hand delivered, faxed, mailed or emailed to the CLE Commission must be physically at the Commission's office by close of business on May 31, 2022. Failure to comply with this deadline will result in the imposition of the $200 continuing non-compliance penalty. |
June 30, 2022 |
Draft Suspension Order submitted to Supreme Court and sent certified mail to named attorneys. |
August 10, 2022 |
Deadline for filing Affidavit of Compliance to avoid suspension. Documents must be physically at the Commission on August 10, 2022 before the office closes at 4:30 CDT. |
August 15, 2022 |
Final Suspension Order submitted to the Tennessee Supreme Court. A $500 Suspension Fee will be assessed upon entry of the Order. |
